The ramkrishna food home at lake road also reffered as bhupender mansions is a  old south indian joint of calcutta , the place is non ac but the food is very good and reasonable ....the place is old .. the main attraction is the oil free dosa and the rava dosa , the coffee is just typical south indian people would love to eat here .

dal kochuri is a dying art in calcutta .. i discovered a shop opposite purabi cinema  in calcutta that still sells dal kochuri .. do try the shop the quality is reasonably okay .

ghol sherbat @ paramount college square calcutta

i think many have visited paramount on college square to drink the ghol and sherbats there , the ambience remains the same and the items remain the same quality their best items are cocoa malai , dab sherbat , fruit cocktail ....legendary people like netaji , acharya jagadish bose and many more people used to visit this place.
price s r reasonable by present day .. they also sell syrups  .....

People who have visited college square must have eaten the pan from montu da  dokan  .. its near paramount and next to the mahabodhi society the pan is something of a delight to eat

Casa Toscana is a  restaurent situated  near menoka cinema , rabindrasarobar off southern avenue , the restaurent is big ... i had passed by it several times but ventured into it recently  .....the food is medium to high priced but the protions are bit small , i ordered a veg pizza and a garlic bread two basic items , the food seems to be okay but not very exciting for my taste buds  .. the service is okay ,,,,,the restaurent is clean ...

Koolfis ( ice creams) of calcutta is famous you can get koolfiss on roadsides and shops in many places of calcutta .. i am today writing about a koolfiwalla near karunamayee next to haveli restaurent , he is a bit different he make traditional ones with some new ones also i tried them and found was good...you can try them
